Residential air conditioning
This refers to air conditioning systems primarily used in detached houses, particularly single-family homes. Residential air conditioning systems are generally simpler to install and come in various configurations.
Split
A split air conditioning system consists of two units: an indoor unit (the evaporator) and an outdoor unit (the compressor). Cold air is distributed into the room through the indoor unit, while the outdoor unit expels the heat. This system is simple to install, efficient, and commonly used in homes.
Bi-split
A bi-split system is similar to the split system but allows for two indoor units to be connected to a single outdoor unit. This enables air conditioning for multiple rooms with just one outdoor unit, maintaining high energy efficiency. This type of system is often used in homes with more than one room to cool.
Multisplit
A multisplit system is an evolution of the bi-split system, allowing for multiple indoor units (e.g., 3 or 4) to be connected to a single outdoor unit. This is useful in larger homes or situations where several rooms need to be air-conditioned without having multiple outdoor units.
